• Safety checks - Automatically check a child’s location at a specified time. See where your children have been with maps that feature breadcrumb trails or text-based reports
• Communicate safely and securely - Send text messages to the child you’re locating via the Sprint Family Locator application on your phone or the Sprint Family Locator website.
• Permission-based - As a parent, you control access to who can locate your child’s phone. Permission is password-protected.

What You'll Need

Phones:

Almost any Sprint or Nextel phone can be used as a locatable “child” phone, which is all that is required to locate your child from the Sprint Family Locator website Optionally, you can also locate your child from your handset if you have a supported “parent phone. More about compatible phones.

Plan and Plan Add-Ons:

You do not need to download anything to the phone being located (the “child phone”) in order to locate it from the Sprint Family Locator website. If you would like to locate your child from your phone, the parent application is available for download at no additional charge beyond the standard $9.99 monthly service fee, though a data plan is required.

If you wish to use the application's text messaging capabilities and have a Nextel child phone, you will need to add text messaging to your plan. More about recommended plans.

Adding and setting up the service:

You must use the Sprint Family Locator website to sign up for this add-on. You'll also use the website to configure the service (determine which phones will be located, select child notifications, etc). Learn more.
